Re: bug report

Yes, but the thing is they have a lock, and nothing changes in their suppression, for the firing unit that is, between when it was locked on say the first two shots, and then suddenyl loses that...

Re: Long campaign \"bug\"???

That's pretty funny. I never realized that losing the command stops the campaign. I do have one question though. Shouldn't the other side surrender if you destroy their command A0, therefore applying...

Re: Heaven and hell

I would think that normally that an HE shell being fired on something which it cannot damage with AP shell is an improvement. Besides the increased chance of the track suffering damage from HE,...

Re: Bug in AI buys?

Snake: Well I'm usually limiting myself to 3,250 points these days. Depending on the nation I'm playing, I end up with between 95-115 core units. That force value is based on the 1939 Germans....

Re: Bug in AI buys?

OH MY GOODNESS! So I guess the 200 unit maximum is just for the core size? I ought to experiment and pick 199 units in the core and see if it will let me pick more than one support unit. I suspect...

Re: Killing Infantry in WW2 and MBT

And another obvious question: Will the new EXE be on the cd?

Re: winSPWW2 Launches Its Worldwide Assault!

I'm sorry DRG, I was wrong. I have tried doing the same thing and it works instead. I'm not sure if I missed the flag and thought I hit it, or that I'm so used to more modern software that I'm unused...

Re: winSPWW2 Launches Its Worldwide Assault!

Frankly I doubt anyone has a clue what I'm talking about. I'm not talking about any ol' encyclopedia from any ol' screen. It was from one screen ONLY. Unfortunately I forgot about checking this...

Re: winSPWW2 Launches Its Worldwide Assault!

I may be mistaken, but I could have swore the DOS version allowed me to access other nations in the encyclopedia when I was forming my core. IIRC this version does not and nothing I'm seeing of the...

Re: winSPWW2 Launches Its Worldwide Assault!

Me too. I'm curious how that encyclopeidc sorting works. I'm wondering if that means I can see very single unit in the game in one big pile, in alphabetic order? It is a bit if a bummer if you're...

Re: Points allocation during the campain

That and user-directed campaign maps on the fly. SPWAW don't even come close.

Re: Points allocation during the campain

I guess it just depends on different players, but I found most of the time that even 3X wasn't enough. I was rather thinking this SP version would be trumping SPWAW in that department, but I guess...

Re: Points allocation during the campain

SPWAW had the assault rate at 3X.

Re: Long campaign \"bug\"???

One of the developers said that the AI doesn't always buy mines all the time anymore, however, I have played with the AI in a defend mission, and in that mission too he didn't buy a scrap of mines...

Re: Bug in AI buys?

I suppose the 200 unit limit is just for the human core then, or maybe the core plus support.

Re: Points allocation during the campain

What are the normal (100%) modifiers for AI points if it is the attacker in an assault? And what about the normal level for an AI attacking advance?

Re: Bug in AI buys?

I'm not saying you 'have to' do anything, I'm just thinking your game would be better with a larger map. I must admit I'm somewhat confused. I got the idea that you had like 170 units. Perhaps you...

Re: Bug in AI buys?

Almost 4000pts on a 80X80 map? You're forcing him to buy expensive stuff because he almost can't use all those points otherwise. Play as GB yourself and see how many units you can buy "without"...

Re: Bug in AI buys?

Considering that's only 28 Mati's that's entirely within regimental parameters. It just so happens that you're such a bad dude that the enemy is taking you more seriously...

Re: Bug in AI buys?

The thing we have to remember about this game is that it's not meant to be a force representing the "average force" such that every unit represents 100 or 1000 or the real life units.

No, the...

Re: Artillery

It's good you caught that. Another primary difference also: you were bombarding with very little over a more extended period, at least compared to what happened to me. I had like 12-16 guns bearing...

Re: Artillery

I think you get results more indicative of what we have been talking about if it is 'your' AFV's that are being bombarded. Try bunching up maybe 15-20 at various places on a road, and let him see you...

Re: Troop Quality in preferences

Yes, I always thought the recent treatment of bunkers was a bit peculiar, as it seemed that the slit was too much accomodated for. It used to be the front had the heaviest armor, but now it's the...
