SE5: Renforcements..have arrived.

Fun little bit with the combat simulator:

I'm sure everyone's noticed you can stop it at any time, and that damage carries over to the next sim, right?

The stop button isn't actually a stop button.

Its a "pause" button. If you want you can stop the battle mid-stream, re-position the ships, add renforcements, remova ships, whatever. Quite handy.
