Free-Spawning Units
Just a quick question. Does anyone have a list of all the Commander units that have free-spawning units?(Ageless Olm, West and Eastern Generals, Vampire Count, etc)

Re: Free-Spawning Units
Most of those are freespawners only in the CBM. To check those you can open the .dm file and check which pretenders have a #summon or a #domsummon
Exceptions to this are: Vampire queen, Lord of the Night, Polypal mother, Prince of Death which are freespawners in vanilla as well, afaik

Re: Free-Spawning Units
LA Ermor has a national hero unit who freespawns Shade Beasts (can't think of his name at the moment...).

Re: Free-Spawning Units
The "AllUnits" tab of Edi's Dom3 DB spreadsheet can be sorted on Columns FL to FS to show all units that summon in vanilla. Here's a link to his DB thread:

Re: Free-Spawning Units
Ok, now bear with me for a second.
What if someone say, used the Wish spell to summon all the commanders/pretenders that give free units. Would they in theory have an army spawning every turn?

In theory yes, but by the time you have Wish available in games, armies to a large extent have pretty limited uses by then. And armies made up of freespawn will have even less use than that by that stage. Not really the best use of a Wish IMO.
Edit: Bloody people coming in and wanting me to do work made me get ninjad

Re: Free-Spawning Units
If you can cast wish, you'll be at a point where armies are no longer needed, and if you can cast it many times, you've probably won the game already, there are way better uses of it

Re: Free-Spawning Units
-NON-FREE SPAWN RELATED-
Units such as machaka spider have no upkeep once they fall on their second form, that is when the rider dies, does that apply for every unit this type, and more precisely does that apply on Gryphon riders, 125 gold!!!Ouch!

Yes, Gryphon riders are free once they become Gryphons. They also have low MR then too.
