Default Common, Rare events.

What's the exact formula for common or rare events chance of occurring?

Don't you think Rare events inflate a lot the Luck-Misfortune scale?

Im not sure of the formula.

As far as the balance, people are more willing to take +3 luck than they are the 3 chaos to increase the frequency. They tend to take the +3 luck with +3 order which turns the frequency about as low as it goes. This makes the rare a whole lot MORE rare.

I think what Cohen is getting at is the idea that if events are Rare, it doesn't hurt as much to take Misfortune. It certainly seems that way to me at least.

Hmm... the lowest event frequency would be Order +3, Luck 0 isn't it?

I have always understand it as Order decrease frequency by 5% each step, whereas Chaos increase frequency by 5% each step. However, both luck & misfortune increase frequency by 5% a step. Have I been wrong all these times o_O?

Gateway, you are right, but luck decreases the chance of BAD events happening, which is the point here if I'm correct...

The point there is that Rare Events unbalance the Fortune/Misfortune scale, so Pretenders can easily achieve points by taking Misfortune.

Well I however believe that 40 points for 1 scale point is too much ... or at least the effect is too low...
