Default Computer players vs Human players

Has anyone tried the game setting- team mode: computer players vs all human players?

Is there a way to make several computer players into a team, let the other computer players be independent, and have one Human player.
For example: Can you add the existing empire the Borg 4 times, set them as a computer team, add an existing Federation race, and let the computer fill in the other races(not aligned with the Borg).

You could check "Human vs Computer" at startup.

Then you could kidnap/blackmail a couple of friends and force them to play the independent empires.

Good Luck!

Set the game up with all the different players as usual. Then take control of the computer players on the forst turn and get them to surrender to one another.

If you don't want the tactical advantage of seeing where all your enemies are, get someone on the forum to set the game up for you and mail you the files=-)Basically it's scenario building...

How do you get the races to surrender to each other when they may not have contact for
a number of turns?

True. I guess you have 2 options:

1> Edit the map and starting points so that they make contact immediately, then take control and effect the surrender.

or/and

2> Play with all empires under human control until you have them all the way you want them - and then you can start playing properly at turn 10 or 20 or something. You could effectively delay the first turn of the game for as long as you like by simply preventing any/ all players from developping.

In the same way you could also create more detailed scenarios (ie certain races have tech advantages, colonies, fleets already built...)

Unfortunatly you lose the first turn research bonus doing this, but you might be able to use the cheats to counter this. Not sure.

If you do have a go at creating your scenario, please post the files for everyone. I don't think I've seen any scenarios uploaded yet.

Just have every race colonize a few extra worlds and build research centers. Build enough RS to get your 100k research points, then abandon all the colonies and save the game.
You'll still have the 100k research to spend on the first turn, and you'll be down to normal after that.
