Re: kailasa vs abysia
Depends very much on what research you have done, but you've got strong earth magic and not much in the way of armor--you could try Iron Bane (Alteration-6, E3), which essentially destroys all armor on the battlefield. Even Alteration-4 will get you Destruction, which is the same thing only localized (AOE 6 I think).

Re: kailasa vs abysia
You have access to both Earth and Water. You won't get Fire Fend (Ench 5, immunity to fire) but you CAN use Fire Ward. It won't be easy to cast it if you don't have any booster items, but even a Robe of the Sea (W3, gives +1 Water) would be enough to make a W1E3 mage a Fire Ward caster (if you spend an extra Water gem).

Are you casting Rain in your battles? Should help a bit. Also Wolven Winter is a cheap way to mess with his scales.

Re: kailasa vs abysia
The spells like iron bane that destroy armour make his troops very vunerable to your archers(or your anything for that matter).

Re: kailasa vs abysia
Archers are better with Destruction than with Iron Bane. I've never found anything except a blow in melee combat that actually breaks rusty armor (tried Rain of Stones, Earthquake, archers, etc.), but Destruction doesn't need a blow.
