Hi. As the Executive Producer (i.e. man in charge) of Renaissance, I'm dropping by to reply to your comment above.
Thank you very much for your continued patronage of Renaissance. We value our readers quite a bit, and do what we can to ensure that you guys are happy. I invite you to discuss Renaissance on the public bulliten board. There are usually a few conversations about each episode and the arc as a whole going on there at
http://pub10.ezboard.com/ftrektechfrm17.
With regard to the arcs, we
do have arcs planned. However, we've used the first bunch of episodes of the first season to explore and create expository material about the Renaissance universe. Suffice it to say that all the "standalone" episodes that seem to be a part of the arc will be followed up on.
Dojar is a fairly private person, and as you've noticed, he barely discusses
anything with anyone. It's not a surprise that he hasn't followed up on the story with his friends (or lack thereof) considering all that's happened to him (including his getting trapped and almost lost quite a few times).
With regard to the Cross/Elris relationship, we thought long and hard before including it in the Renaissance story. We agreed only to do it if we dealt with the story in a mature and appropriate fashion, and so we've taken many steps to ensure we've done it.
Quinlan was a toughie because of development we've planned for her later this season. When the episode is released, you'll see what I mean, but I assure you, we're not ignoring her or leaving her alone.
Y'lan's development is predictable, but there are things about him you do not yet know that will make his character far more interesting. Talora and Dojar's relationship is "convenient," but there are "convenient" things that happen in real life as well as fiction.
Please continue to read our episodes. I promise we are leading somewhere.
