Is there an upper limit for the damage resistance of a ship?
I created a death star ship with 6000kT space. This gives a total damage resistance of about 10000kT (of course depending on the components used in its design). Everything is fine until in a battle or in the combat simulation the death star is about to be destroyed. Then a range check error occurs and the game freezes.
If I remove some of the components of the death star design and the total damage resistance is therefore lowered to about 5000kT the range check error does not occur and the ship is destroyed as expected.
This is a perfect example for MM to look at. Send in your mod files and your savegame with an explanation of the problem. He can look at it with the debugger and see what's really going wrong.
Thank you for your answers. Your are right that the problem is not the total damage resistance of the ship. It seems that the error occurs if the attacked death star ship has wave motion guns. I have no idea how that can cause the error and sent the files to MM. Hope he finds the cause and can fix it.
I have to give up to find the error myself. It is not the wave motion gun and the error occurs not with 100% reproducability. It seems (!!!) to be connected to the order the components are destroyed and occurs more frequently if components with high damage resistance are present. But this is just my impression and not sure at all.
