Yep, I have always thought the Crystalline weapons were vastly underpowered as opposed to say the Organic ones. This is a partial 'correction' IMO. I am working on mounts for all the racial techs, crystalline were just the easiest to come up with in the way of ideas.
Other possibilities:
Organic Armor mount, (structure increase)
Organic Weapon Mounts (damage/to hit increase due to 'Genetic Alteration').
Crystalline Engine Mount (or organic, to simulate solar power or a geneticly altered creatures innate superiority).
Psychic Weapon Mounts (expanded, different levels for 'stronger/weaker' telepaths in terms of damage/to hit ability)
Religious Mounts ('Armor of Faith',...still thinking

)
Basicly I am just playing around right now to get the right mix of ideas and balancing them out so as one race/tech is not too powerful (just wish we could affect armor abilites like Regeneration or Emmissiveness {is that even a word??

}) Eventually it will be as Geo stated it once, a huge incredibly complex CompEnhancement.txt file in which all things are possible (paraphrased)
