RE: The Chechen Republic
Some of the equipment in the Chechen OOB represents captured equipment and much of what was selected is a guess as there is little detail available or it was chosen to fill some gap in the equipment roster.
Although I'm sure the entire subject could be debated to death many of these are decision the original OOB designer made based on scant information and 5 years later it's easy to second guess someone who isn't around any longer.
However

Why ? The Russian Army didn't use this vehicle in Chechnya? Got any proof ?

unit 155 - 82mm Vasilek is not AT-gun, it is a mortar.

"DF" indicates this is a weapon modeled ONLY to be used as DF. That's why "DF" was included in the name.( makes sense....yes? ) WHY this was done IDK. Perhaps some report indicated the Chechens were only using the weapon in this way ? It was a deliberate decision to add "DF" but I do not recall the exact reason years after the fact but their use as DF or IDF units is under review. There are / were quite a number of "82mm DF Vasilek" in various OOB's

As I said, there are a number of units and weapons included in this OOB to represent captured equipment. Do you have any proof BMP-3's were never sent to Chechnya and none were ever captured ? Proof is what I need to remove it. "strongly I doubt " is just an opinion and it would appear the original OOB designer had a different opinion.
