Windows Media Player has crapped out on me, and I was hoping someone could offer some help. By help I don't mean recommending something better (
) since I'd like to actually get WMP working!
Symptom: WMP opens just fine, but whenever I try to play any sort of file (music, video) it gives me the generic Windows error message:
"Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience", with the option to send an error report or not send an error report. This is consistent and 100% repeatable.
I've tried installing versions 9, 10, and the beta version of 11 that is available. The same thing happens with all versions.
Any suggestions?
