Comm error recieving gifts??

Has anyone else noticed that when you accept a gift or trade it does not go through? I think one of 3 things must be happening here:

1 - There is a bug.
2 - I play too early in the morning before the caffine has kicked in.
3 - I play too late at night when the beer has kicked in.

It's happened so often to me I'd like to think it is #1 but 2 and 3 are a distinct possibility.
