The second stage of the capture of the Marianas will be the invasion of Guam. The largest of the principal islands, it is geographically similar to Saipan. It will be the task of the 4th Marine Regiment to land, and proceed through a maze of land obstacles used to maximum advantage by very determined defenders.*
