Re: Gryphin\'s Tessellate Ship Set
Just put up 2nd generation. Impressions are welcome. Yes, the tessalation seems a bit contrived but it works for me. I will be calling them the Tessalats.
Edit: Atrocities, You are Leagaly Blind also?

Re: Gryphin\'s Tessellate Ship Set
This is a neat and unique shipset! It looks as though several small ships could dock together and form a bigger ship, or perhaps thousands of ships could interlock to produce a sphereworld. It would be interesting to have ships that are modular like this, so if a part of the ship is destroyed in a battle, you just replace those hexagonal parts, or perhaps take the good parts from two or more damaged ships and create one complete ship...
Very nice shipset.

Re: Gryphin\'s Tessellate Ship Set
Thanks guys. I apriciate it. Funny thoug. I did it with the "moduals" because it was the easyest method. I figure most folks will see it as "contrived" but for me and my vision, it works.
Questions:
Do Ships need
1) visible engines
2) Visible weapons
3) Should ships Portrait Pics assend in size visualy. That is: The pic of an escort might take 80 x 100 Pixles , Frigate 100 x 120 pixles. etc..
Or should they all be made as large as posissblle to show detail?
(for what it is worth, This set will attempt to show weapons and visual size differerances.
4) Should I start a poll about these questions.
Any other design ideas?

Re: Gryphin\'s Tessellate Ship Set
pathfinder,
Thanks, I do strive for originalty in my world. I take that as a high compliment.
Kamog,
When using this set it does seem to make sence that the race enhance thier ship construction / maintenance atributes as much as possible and reasonable.
The 3rd Generation of Tessellate ships will be designed by:
Design the Dreadnaught first with all of the details till I'm happy with it.
Thank mlmbd enormously
Design the rest of the ships by removing and rearanging the moduals and weapons.
Then thank mlmbd again for rendering and tweaking them for me.
I was thinking about doing a Tutorial on using Doga L2 to make ship sets. Does anyone know if this would be redunant? Is there one out there alwready?
Thanks again.
