Default 2 questions from a newbie

Hi,

I just started playing this game and I have two questions. 1st: How does the map editor work? I can't place anything there, no planets, wormholes aso. Even I can't move them, did not find any buttons to do...

2nd:
I the past I have done a lot of modding work for "ST-Armada" ( anyyone knows the Dark Alliances Mod ) ). As far as I know Se4 is very mod-friendly. So is it possible to add new race to the game, that doesn't mean replace a race with a new one it means a completely new race.
thx.

Ben

Question 1:

To add a planet, you must first add a system. You can do this by clicking "Add" on the Galaxy Map menu bar. Once you have a system, click on "Add" on the smaller Space Object window to add a planet or warp point etc. To add a warp point, you need at least two systems. Using the Space Object menu bar "Add" a new warp point, you'll have to give it destination co-ordinates in the other system, be sure to create a reciprocal warp point in the destination system to the original system as well. The map editor is tedious at best, but play around with it as it is fairly intuitive.

Question 2:

Yes, adding new races does not replace existing races. You can have up to 20 races in a single game!

There is no relevant limit to the number of races you can have installed and available for use in the game. You could probably have 500 races available if you found/made that many.

The Map Editor is very "object-oriented". To add something, you have to select a location for it first, then click that window's Add button.

To move something, you have to select it, then Edit it.
