Why not just turn on the "Teamplay mode" in the Game settings? You know, the one that says "All AI's alliaed against all humans."

You get to be mega evil right from turn 1 AND they act allied.

Actually it was a pretty poor model, when was the Last time that a major alliance shared all its secrets amongst all it's partners? never, the Russians were not told about the atomic bomb until it had been tested and were never given tech details, however they already knew about the A-Bomb because they were spying on the US.

I'd certainly vote for cessation of hostilities amongst warring AIs and a Military alliance, but continue spying etc, possibly Tech transfers to bring the "poorer" AI nations up to 2/3rds of the tech of the richer.

I could also live with my Partners declaring neutrality and ceasing trade with both sides (or trading equally with both sides) rather than declaring war.

Have any of you ever seen a total unification against one opponent in Earth history? Even the Germans in Last century were able to find companions in their efforts to conquer the world twice, and there were alot of countries "neutral". It's absolute nonsense to expect to be able to unify ALL other races against ONE central enemy on earth, let alone in the universe!

Which means, I plead for the NON MOO model!

Heh. I remember this fondly. On at least one occassion I got so irritated with a race or two (with which I happened to be on good terms) that I let them elect me, and then promptly refused to accept the decision...
