Re: Office XP
Not another XP bashing thread. I thought you all got that out of your systems with the Last one...

Re: Office XP
I checked my menus, and they're all standard Windows style. You've probably already done this, but try:
1) Right-click on the desktop
2) Choose Properties
3) Choose the Appearance tab
4) Change "Windows and buttons" to "Windows Classic style"
5) Change "Color scheme" to "Windows Classic"
Of course, not owning Office XP, I might not know about any special settings it might have.

Re: Office XP
I don't see what the difference is that is causing you so much pain. You want the grey instead of the white? Is that it? They look pretty much the same to me. Obviosly they aren't exactly the same, I can see they are different. But the difeerence seems insignificant to me.

Re: Office XP
Geo: other than the fact that the menus are twice as big for no apparent reason?

Re: Office XP
There is a rather significant difference in how office XP looks compared to 2000.
Dumbluck, the point wasn't to bash XP, just to try to get office XP to look like a normal windows application, and not what it looks like.

Re: Office XP
Fyron, are there any Most Recently Used files in the bottom of the File menu? I don't have Office XP, but I just checked Word 2K, and the File menu is as wide as the longest Most Recently Used file's entry. Is there an option to not display Most Recently Used Files (or set it to zero)?
[edit] Nearly forgot-- I couldn't find an answer to your question on Microsoft's Knowledge Base.

Re: Office XP
It's not the width, so much as the poor look of the program in general. Each line of the menu is taller than necessary though.

Re: Office XP
Right-click the Menu Bar and see if you can set menu options from there.
