Re: Satellite launch.
This is something that has bugged me!
Sometimes, I have a planet produce a bunch of satellites...say 50 or 75.
Then it is threatened to be attacked. The mines in orbit are insufficient to deter the attack.
My choice? Launce 75 satellites or none!

Re: Satellite launch.
it don't cost anything to launch sats, and you can recover back into storage any left over. why would that be a problem?
I would however like to see the ability to launch one sat for spying purposes from a ship

Re: Satellite launch.
using my Porta-Builder and having it stacked in the same sector in open space with another ship that had cargo capabilities, I built a couple of Sats en-route to a new planet. the new sats were placed in the cargo hold of the other ship. This is fine. My question is, if a space yard ship with no cargo, builds a sat in open space, will it automaticly launch the unit, or will you get the message construction cancelled due to inadequate storage?
if it places the sat in space, maybe that is the better way to go than using sat haulers for placing those spy sats where you only want to drop one.
Of course, placing a cargo container on the space yard ship removes the problem, but if using a cruiser hull for the builder you won't have enough room for one.

Re: Satellite launch.
Not that I know of. The way I do it is create an escort with the capacity to hold only 1 of whatever sat size I'm using. You can then send this out with your Porta Builder. Transfer one sat and then launch it on target. Very frustrating limitation.
