Customizing Systems
Anyone know how to "fix" the starting system for a race (i.e., Have EA/EDF/Terrans/UFP start at a Sol system with real names/pics for all the planets and "major" moons)?
The Lion & I have been trying to figure this out for a month now...

Re: Customizing Systems
As far as I know it can't be done.

Re: Customizing Systems
Well, it looks like it's possible to design a system type based on Sol, with the right number and types of planets and moons, but the real trick that Snap and I have not been able to figure out is how to assign the right pictures to the right planets, how to designate the system as the starting system for the humans (under whatever empire name) or even how to label the dang this as "Sol".
Any and all advice would be welcome (recognizing, of course, that this may very well prove impossible).

Re: Customizing Systems
I think this will be impossible until the senario editor is made. And no I don't have any idea when that will be. It doesn't look like it will be soon at least not in this next patch looking at the Beta patch thread.

Re: Customizing Systems
Right now, I would have to say that its an improbiblity that you could do as you have asked. Given time, I am sure a senerio and map editor will become available, but until then, its a no go.

Re: Customizing Systems

Re: Customizing Systems
I think it would be cool if you could create a "home system" file for each race that captured all of the details of the system name, planet types, pictures, etc... The game could then generate the galaxy and substitute this pre-generated system design for whatever random system would have been the race's home system. It could be set up so that there is a point value to each thing in the system and this counts against your race design points.
