Re: To all my PBW games - Greybeard
Actually, I don't have a cat. Or a dog.
But I do have a cockatoo parrot which sheds a white powder which is something like talcum powder.
Don't think that is the problem. Or is it?

I have had my computer for less than two years.
Within 4 months of getting it, the CPU fan went.
Within a year, the fan on the video card went.
Both were on warranty. But I didn't get my computer back for 3 weeks and 2 weeks respectively.
Now, my CPU fan is going again(vibrating, noise).
The CPU fans are good fans (ball bearings not sleeves etc.)
Tried a couple of places to buy a replacement, don't have the same size amps/amps. Smaller fans but not my size.
Did buy a CPU fan with double the amp/wattage of the one I have. It is actually a case fan but I can install it as a CPU fan.
I now have a problem with the screws, as the new fan is twice as thick. And no one has the longer screws.
Will have to make do with different type of screws.
My computer sounds like a tractor under load.
Should have it fixed by tomorrow, so shouldn't miss any turns.
Didn't have this problem with all the Macs I bought in 20 years!
Greybeard, I certainly empathize with you.

What kind of computer is it? I have had fan problems in the past, but it is related to the amount of dust they have to eat.

Open the case and mount the outside fan pointing inside ? An open cask of dry ice between fan and computer would be nice.

Re: To all my PBW games - Greybeard
I should be up and running tonight. Had a terrible weekend and wasn't able to get my computer working. To those who waited for me, thanks. Greybeard

Thermodyne
It's a Canadian product. The manufacturer is MDC.
Won upteen awards for service & reliablility.
Only problem I have had with it is with the fans.

OK, but I was kinda wanting to know what was inside. AMD or Intel, that kind of stuff. With details I can link you to some places where you can get high quality fans and stuff.
