I also have the new TDM modpack installed. That's it.

Two questions:
1) Are you loading SE4 with the TDM mod, or with no mod?
2) Did you check the relevant Settings.txt? If you are loading with TDM, did you check Data\Settings.txt or TDM-Modpack\Data\Settings.txt?
Just go make sure both are set to TRUE.

Re: CD Music?
The box to enable Digital CD Audio is greyed out. Not sure why, or how to un-grey it...

That is probably because of the analog cable going from the CD drive to the Sound Card. You could try unplugging that (after shutting down), and then try to enable digital playback and see if the music plays. (dont forget to see my Last post, made while you were typing ).

The CD audio is on in the TDM settings file... just checked that. I'm not going to mess about with the hardware for this - shouldn't be necessary. I can play the SEIV music tracks in Windows Media Player, and I have no sound problems in any other games or while playing music CD's, so tinkering with the cables isn't entering into this.

Re: CD Music?
Tinkering with the hardware always enters into it. Its up to you if you want to make it work or not.

Re: CD Music?
i am not able to listen to music anymore either. even with a regular audio cd in the drive. i checked the settings file and initially the allow cd music was set to false. i have changed it to true, but still no music. this is on both my home pc and my laptop.
edit: i had disabled the cd music initially since i was listening to whatever was on the radio at the time instead.
