Re: Ordered and Shipped!!
Escaflowne, I'm in the same boat as you.
My Gold Version just arrived and am currently installing all the patches and extras.
You will need 2 Space Empires Directories - 1 Standard & 1 Extra Crispy.
You will then have to patch it to the latest Version, install TDM and any and all other mods you want...

Re: Ordered and Shipped!!
Okay... Proportions is whacked, but in a good "I'm not quite sure what I'm doing but this won't get me killed immediately" kinda way. I finally find some of the computers and they all have 30 ships and I have about 4. Some where happy, others hostile.
Noticed a few things that bug me. In Proportions 2.5.1 (most current that I know of) Both the Starliner Module and Colony Development techs just keep goign without greying out to show they are maxed out.
Second, not sure it his is related to the Mod or the patch to my Extra Crispy game, but I can no longer add multi-line notes about systems. Where hitting enter used to cause a new line to start it now closes the note window. Highly annoying. Any ideas about that?

2.5.2.2 or 2.5.3.1 are the newest Versions.
You probably have not maxed out those tech areas, but need to research some other tech area to get their benefits, because they have multiple prerequisites. As far as I remember, anyway.

The mod shouldn't cause that. I hadn't noticed.

It's probably related to the Extra Crispiness... one of the things MM mentions in the history file is that a couple of the patches included more support for using Esc and Enter to exit the pop-up windows. I don't use the system notes feature myself, so I can't give any useful advice on how to deal with multi-line notes in that window.

Re: Ordered and Shipped!!
I don't know about the galaxy notes thing either, i tried holding shift and enter as well but that closed it, i guess you just have to hold space until you're on a new line AHHHH It's like old mobile phones and text messaging!
It's a shame because i always liked to include little things in the galaxy notes thing, i think it should be changed back to what it was pre gold

For starliner modules you need to research cargo in parallel. You probably don't want to advance too quickly in colonial dev because it makes upgrading cities hideously expensive. Better to research it slowly to control your upgrade options.
But if you do want to race on to metropolis and arcology, research construction and industry in parallel.

Re: Ordered and Shipped!!
I must say, it is addicting. I really have been enjoying it. I am still playing my first game (unmodded). What a bLast. I have always been a big fan of space empire type games, MOO, MOO2, VGA Planets, etc. But based upon how much I am enjoying SEIV and the bad comments concerning MOO3 I will not be purchasing MOO3.
I seem there is a FAQ topic that has this monster posting. This should be helpful for some things. Are there any other FAQ type things somewhere?
Thanks,
