In mid- and endgame quite frequently lots of planets met these criteria. Has anyone figured out how the AI decides on which planets it will actually built units?

I'm always at the same point when dealing with my two figters design. It seems that calling the ship name and not the design name in the construction_vehicles.txt file doesn't work indeed.

Anybody know how to built two different fighters, or is it an impossible mission ?

Did you do as I advised ? It certainly worked for my Proportions' Krill. Take a look, but you need to install the latest Proportions (2.5.3)
There should be no problems with calling names in construction_vehicles file, it is construction_units that still uses types only.

If i've understood everything, you've used rotating design for fighters in TDM krill AI : it means the AI builds two types of fighters, with different sizes. So it's impossible to build fighters of the same size with different components ? that's a pity.

Krills don't use design names in their AI files, at least not for fighters.

Not TDM Krill, but Proportions Krill

Take a look, they usually build about 150 "strike fighters", then switch to "fighters" and "bombers" Size does not matter All is done by design names for fighters with different weapons !

The TDM-Krill are using Design Names for fighters; Interceptor, and Bomber.
