Newbie questions
Hi,
I've been thinking about trying out SEIV Gold ever since I heard about it (about a week ago ). However, I was horrified to see that Stratetic Plus, the one UK shop that sells it, has set a 40 quid price tag (usually PC games are about £25-30) for the game. It does seem like a bit of a rip-off.
Any UK people in here who have bought gold? Where did you buy it, and how much did it cost?
By the way, what's the newbie scene like? Is it still possible to find PBEM newbie games?

Re: Newbie questions
I'm in Canada, so I don't know about the exchange rates & such.
However, there has been a lot of MoO 3 players flooding in, and there should be plenty of Newbie PBW games starting.

Re: Newbie questions
I paid the full prize for Gold and consider it as a very good investment - it precluded me from wasiting about hundred quids on some inferior games during Last year

Re: Newbie questions
If you take in all that you get with the gold Version, the price is worth its purchase. If you read the forum and MM site, you will see that the game company gives the best support then any other gaming company, the forum is the best on the net, the members are friendlier then other forums, PLUS all the different mods available, plus all the mod updates, new races, ship sets, and continuous upgrading, and more... You may want to send MM or Shrapenl an PM and see what they would charge you in comparison to where you can buy it over there..... Play the demo and see what the game is like before you buy

Re: Newbie questions
I'm in england and i ordered it from shrapnel games, it is a bit of a high price but believe me it's worth it, i've played it evereyday since i got it at christmas, but i do recommend you try the demo first as £40 is a lot of money if you dislike it (It could happen )
I couldn't get strtegic plus's Online shop to order me seiv, so i got it from shrapnel games, it's at the same price, The high price at strategic plus is because they have to ship it from america i think

Re: Newbie questions
the price of the full Version is well worth the investmate IMHO. I have had the full game since its released and was one of the few who pre-ordered it months in advance. I have never been dissappointed by the game. Board at times yes, but never dissappointed.

No, I think it is simply because strategic plus is a middleman and need a slice too Shrapnel ships from US, I received my from there at least. Fortunately, there is no VAT at customs, I was afraid I would pay even more

Re: Newbie questions
Think of the cost this way.
What will be the price per hour of enjoyment compared to going to the moives?

There is the Newbie FAQ that is stickied at the top of this forum. There is also this site: SE4 Strategy and Tactics. And, there is the Encyclopedia Malfadorica.
