One problem, when I open the latest turn file after the stupid AI, it say that I've got outgoing Messages to all the other races I've run into. And it won't seem to let me change them. I can't even tell what the hell they say.
How can I do this or am I royally screwed?

You can't find out what they sent. Not until the next turn where you can ask what they sent to whoever it was sent to.
