Very nice, but there is a small problem with the Federation ships. You can see the 'flat' sides of the saucers too easily. You need many more angles to smooth them closer to true circles/parabolas.

Thanks Baron. I agree, but DOGA is a very limited program. I was lucky to get the Galaxy to look as good as it does on the top down image. I got the slopped neck and other detail in there, but that damned saucer section is just to much for the program to handle. I will however endevor to improve them. They are prototypes that I made in about an hour one night a while back.

I made the new Klingon ships in about 30 minutes yestarday.

Nice pic Atrocities, I just hope that the ship didn't park on thin ice!

Cheers!

Atrocities, ever think about using a fractal planet flattened as the saucer section? A fractial planet is perfectly round. Since you have been doing this a lot longer than I have, you may have already thought of this. If so please disregard this post.

I like the ship on ice image!

Thanks for the idea there, but the problem I ran into with that option was the texture look like crap. In one instant it repeated itself a bunch of times and was very very ugly.

I set out to make a complete custome one of a kind star trek ship set universe that I could control the images for. IE if I wanted to include them on a disk and sell them I could. Not that I would ever do such a thing. (Well I might if part of the proceeds were donated to PBW.)

After Kwok annonced Last year that he was shelving the STNG mod I picked up my old mod and finished it call it the AST mod. I wanted the AST mod to have 100% custom images so that no one could shut down my web site for using "there images."

Oh ironically some dumb *** tried to claim my breen images as his and sent me an email telling to stop using them. It was all nice and formal and all, but when I replied I asked him if he had the 3d meshes as I knew he did not, and he never replied. That was a long time ago, and I have had no problems since moving the site to Spaceports. Thank you Fyron.

The Federation set is by far the most challenging set to do. IE those GD saucers. If I were smart I would invest the time to learn Moray and Povray. But I am to lazy or to simple mind. Which I have not figured out yet. More than likely easily over come by simple complexe problems.

I hear you. I have been tring, with very very very limit success. I also have Strata 3D. The learning curve is killing me. Maybe by the time SE V is released! Maybe!
