I started it in the Image collection thread when I mentioned 7-Zip http://www.7-zip.org
It has the best compression of any zip program I have seen and its free.

Try UltimateZip - supports a zillion file formats and a handy Windows Explorer integrated menu! Only problem is when you try to open a zip file, you have to wait for a little popup screen, but with the explorer integration you hardly ever have to do that anyway...

Yeah... well... the only way to see which programs are actually better is to get all of them and then test to see how large the archive files they produce are. I know that WinRAR makes smaller ZIP files than WinZip (and RARs are smaller than ZIPs already). But I haven't tested the other programs. But really, it doesn't matter what you use because most of them compress files about the same. Of course, this only holds as long as it isn't something as crappy as WinZip.
