Re: A War for the Stars
If you re-read the invasion you'll see why their casualty rate was so high. Keep those comments coming, you're giving me some great ideas !

Re: A War for the Stars
Seeker I, Captain's log, SGY 2404.9 (fourth part):
The Fleet arrived back at Aram I without a scratch on our hulls. We had already seen enough action this tenth to satisfy any ordinary commander, but some of my officers are extraordinary. As soon as the fighters were back aboard from the Last battle, Captain Suvent and Wing Commander Grann came over to the Seeker to show me a plan of theirs.
Our carriers cannot equip more than a flight of fighters at a time for extended in-system missions. Since the remaining Yakrin ships were out of the Fleet's reach, we could send a few fighters out to harass them now or send the whole Fleet against them next tenth. Captain Suvent and Commander Grann came up with a third option.
They figured we could load our fighters and pilots on cargo shuttles and send them down to Aram I, where they would be fueled and equipped at a Yakrin atmospheric fighter base which we had captured almost intact. From this base, we could equip and launch enough TIE fighters to finish the job at Aram III.
It was a daring plan, but our recent victory had made me confident and I agreed to it. We notified Colonel Haakar down on Aram I, and his men began to work round the clock putting up makeshift support clamps for the fighters. In a few days, we had a major operational TIE base on our hands.
We launched three squadrons against the Yakrin fleet and kept the fourth one here as planetary defense. Lieutenant Haad and his flight had to stay behind with this defense squadron, a second extended mission would have been too hard on them.
Forty of our fighters, led by Commander Grann himself, are now approaching Aram III at full speed. They will be making contact with the enemy any minute now.

Re: A War for the Stars
Taz : please edit reply # 84 in this thread to add the following text : {/font} (use > and < instead of the brackets).
Something in that reply is making all the text after it to become red in the printer-friendly Version.

Re: A War for the Stars
Clumsy inept poor-marksmen stormtroopers are just a myth.
These imperial elite soldiers are certainly one of the best trained, best equiped and deadliest infantry troopers in all movies.
