Default Newbie question? Which MOD should I use?

Hello,

I've been reading about all the great MOD's that have been created for this game and I want to try them out. But there are so many... Which one is the best? And I mean best my which one will provide the most challege I've played only one game of SEIV and it was pretty boring...

Also, how do you install the Mod's?

Thanks In Advance

You'll want to get mod pack v. 1.01 from the mod section. It's generally accepted as the best. To install, simply unzip the file to your SEIV directory. Presto...your done:-)

There was also some talk about a mod removing the call for defense bases since that is bugged right now. Is that going to be included in the next mod pack or should we install that mod seperately (or just remove that call seperately for those of us that feel comfortable doing that). Since that mod is to the construction_vehicles file I believe and that file is also modded for at least some of the races in the mod pack ( I saw it was in the sergetti folder but haven't looked at the others yet) it should perhaps be included in the next mod pack to eliminate some confusion.

Well...you cannot just unzip the mod into your se4 folder. I did just exactly that. For what ever reason it will not work just doing that(unless its beeen revised since my Last try). You have to link or select some things when in the set up menue or else the game will not find the new files.

Claymore, it works fine if you do it like DirkHowitzer described. Then read the readme files per race. On one of them you need to download a shipset.

You may also have to move one file per race if I recall, the emp file.
The read me is very helpful. I am very shaky on installing things if they aren't automatic and I was able to figure it out so I'm sure you can.
Have fun with it, it makes a tremendous difference.
