Cyrix M2 300
Damn, those were the days, I remember when Cyrix was going to be the next best thing (with AMD, at least AMD is still around).
Look at it as a bit of history, you know going back to the day where a 120 meg HD was HUGE!!! and 14.4 baud modem made your buddies drool
Silly me, I remember when I bought my 200 meg HD and thought "I doubt that I will EVER fill this up"

Re: ATTENTION: Hugh Manatee Shipyards Is Under Construction
Hehe... every time I get a new computer I think, "geez, I could fit the entire hard drive of the one two systems back into this thing's RAM!"
And when I first got MOO2 (can it be that long ago? I remember drooling over that game in Games Magazine when it first came out but my mom wouldn't let me buy it because the Antaran looked too scary so it might be violent ), I had to delete a lot of stuff to get the game to run because it required 80 MEGABYTES of hard drive space... that was 1/5 of the hard drive that I had to share with my dad and all my brothers! I was so glad when we finally upgraded and I could install MOO2 without making my brother delete his baseball game, and the game could actually load without me having time to go downstairs and get a sandwich...
Oh well, this isn't even my topic, what am I doing rambling on and on here

Re: ATTENTION: Hugh Manatee Shipyards Is Under Construction
It's all over, the Hugh manatee shipyards are on fire, I'm in a library next to a woman who's wearing way to much perfume , the other computer that I was using to post stuff with is dead. I might be able to get first old pentium 90 with it's little 500MB hard drive to work but computer gaming and Graphics developement is all gone. the swarm, the space butterflies, the Machina, Fyrons dragons, the Souless, the Adamant opening screen it's all wherever deleted files go .

Damn dude, and I thought I had bad luck. I wish I had a PC I could give you, but all of my old crap is long since gone.
What are you going to do now? I am sure there are good PC's out there real cheap and easy to get.

Re: ATTENTION: Hugh Manatee Shipyards Is Under Construction
Atrocities put it right: Damn.
Are you sure your Hard Drive is dead? As long as it doesn't give you any detection errors during startup then the information on the Drive may still be recoverable (even if Windows is what crapped out). Popping the Drive into another computer (as a 2nd Drive) may allow you to retrieve information off the drive before a format.
If the Drive itself is making grinding noises, there's a chance it can be recovered. There's usually a speciallized computer store or 2 in every city that can make physical repairs to Hard Drives to recover data.
