Re: Scenario Editor, where is it?
Depending on how things go, we should have a Map Editor, and maybe a scenario editor. I hope.

The two will hover, spinning inches above the ground. With a giant buttered cat array, a high-speed monorail could easily link New York with Chicago.

Re: Scenario Editor, where is it?
A scenario editor would include details like ship designs for both sides, number of ships, size of fleet, planets with locations, locations of warp gates, tech levels, etc.. all so that you could set up an actual scenario or campaign along the lines of Starfire (the board game) or various sci-fi novels, including Dave Weber's books, and other space battle stuff.

Re: Scenario Editor, where is it?
Guys, go back and check the old press releases. A Scenario Editor was *specifically* promised to us.

Re: Scenario Editor, where is it?
Here is a direct quote from Aaron's press release of 9/22/00
"Some of you have asked about Map Editors and Scenarios editors. They don't exist yet, but they will. Probably not in time for the full release, but they will be made available soon after the release for free to all owners of SE4."
nmoppa and Pathy, you both sounded like you thought I was imagining things
Not that I'm unhappy with Aaron or Shrapnel, I just thought it was reasonable to ask a polite question, given that, (as you can see from the quote above), we were told it would be along "soon after the release".

Re: Scenario Editor, where is it?
Heh, "soon" is a term that means different things to different people. To my boss, it means sometime in the next 10 minutes. To a geologist, it means sometime in the next million years

Re: Scenario Editor, where is it?
Possum,
Editors are way down the list. We need to get game working properly first.
