Re: Biggest PBW game ever?
No, they don't. Check your score after you mothball a ship. It goes down.

Actually Fyron, Tesco is correct. Mothballed ships still count against your ship limit. They don't add to your score though and they don't show up in the score display as you say, but they still show in the ship/units screen and they will cause you to hit your ship limit and won't allow new construction. They have to be scrapped, destroyed or given away.

Yes, I am aware of that. But the system grav shields can't be disabled at game startup without disabling all shields, or without using a mod, and disabling stellar manip (which can be done at game setup) eliminates the need for system shields to begin with. Serves the same purpose as eliminating the shields. However, I see it wouldn't work for the game in question since the clusters weren't connected. In an all warp points connected map though it would be effective in eliminating the turteling problem.

Oh really? I could've swore it was 10. Been too long since the game started.
When I made my empire I was still a newbie to PBW and didn't know how to best set my empire up and so forth. Now I am learning how to deal with my bad empire set up in this game and I have learned alot. I'm just like you, learning how to micromanage like never before as I have never had this large of an empire. (Though still small compared to yours. )

Rags, getting over your own empire descisions is nothing compared to dealing with someone else's. hehe. I've retrofitted or scrapped pretty much all the ships I started with, re-designed many colonies..but the racial setup leaves me scratching my head.

I can understand that. It was my brothers empire. He was a newbie to SEIV and PBW all at the same time. So he didn't know much about how to set his empire up. And I didn't help him because at the time we lived an hour away from each other and I didn't make it down there much; nor he here. Then he decided to join the Army so he had to leave the game.

Re: Biggest PBW game ever?
Well, I had 3 or 4 games before I joined into this one and I had pretty good idea how to design and I haven't found any big flaws from my empire design so far. However, I have redesigned my ships couple of times by now.
