First OOPS! moment. Turn 65 when I realized my Uber-Baseships aren't particurly useful since they have no QR or supply storage. Two quontum engines are fast enough, but won't get you very far. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

2414.0 (no spoilers here) : Boring buildup phase. I'm not quite ready to make a move into their major colony systems, especially because they still have a LOT more ships than I do. They're not invading either.

Heh heh heh... You may notice some of the AI designs will have the same problem... especially on the frontier.

Maybe you taught them a lesson the first time, and they are too timid to come at you again.

Glad to hear they are using warp openers. I didn't think the AI would be all that great with coming after you. As I believe I mentioned, I purposefully made it difficult for them to stage an immediate offense; the challenge is really geared toward the AI defending it's home system.

Harrassment of the players is gravy. I imagine this will be random for each player.

2415.0 (minor spoilers regarding AI tactics)

After I killed the 50 or so ships they sent at me, they stopped opening WPs into my side of the quadrant (but I believe they opened some more on their side). They tried sending some ships at me (no more than two at a time), then apparently gave up. I am now on the offensive, capturing some of their colonies. They still have a lot more ships than I do but they're not trying to stop me, so I'm basically up against their unarmed or lightly-armed support ships.

They've converted the atmosphere on all the colonies I can see and built at least one system grav shield. I'd say their economic build-up routines are working very well.

Right now I still have five unexplored systems on my map, one of which is their home system and the other is a colony system. I'll probably narrow the options some more this afternoon.

2411.9

Those storms... I lost about 100 base ships to them. I haven't yet figured out how the storms actually work. My first little fleet took no damage when it moved to the storms but this big fleet got destroyed entirely. Looks like a random damage However this cause many extra turns re-building my ships.

[spoiler] Yes... I don't have a very good handle on it myself. Damage appears to vary with every encounter. The one variable I will volunteer has something to do with your designs. Did your first wave have different components?

You have BBegemott to thank for the storm concept. I was waiting for folks to express a bit of frustration with it. Of course, it was not as much trouble for him.
