Year 2404
Battle of Avren's Revenge

I am here with the first Gwel Gath warfleet. Although our first efforts were weak in design and strength, we have corrected those mistakes now, and just in time.

Even without our efforts at rescue that are before us, Tyvalger has established a military colony that is successfully defending itself. It appears the war magi are weak, they are still in the Last campaign's mindset. They have not raised the stakes of battle.

All the strong empires of todays' world have built an industrial capacity in space, yet the war magi have not, the sieges are no excuse from a strategic point of view. They have become so engrossed in the siege on Tyvalger that they have not kept up with the ways of ship to ship warfare.

The Last message of any surviving Avren Gath came to us just before battle, the stranded and immobile colonial ship of Avren Gath sent one Last message to our fleet, a rallying cry for victory, if you will. "At Last, Meraud's flag flies for a fleet of great strength. Meraud now has his day,"

In battle, the war magi only have napalm ships and missile platforms, less than no threat to us. The Paladins are the strongest known force in the galaxy at this moment, but they have not shifted away from missiles yet, and this is an anti-missile fleet.

But conquering the war magi homeworld will not be possible today, the reversal of fortunes is so swift that we have not switched over to building ships with napalm in them, no point in even trying, with any size fleet if you don't have napalm. The specializations needed make a ship containing both anti planet and anti ship weapons very valuable, which in turn makes larger ship technology valuable.

Necromancer's Dominion

There is nothing that can stop us, the Paladins have been humbled, the Clerics are outmanned, the galaxy is in our hands. We defeated a 28 ship paladin fleet losing one ship and destroying 23 of theres, leaving 5 which fled. Our missile defense was flawless. We have since regrouped and now lead a 30 ship fleet. We will turn immediately to the attack, the only question being against the Clerics or Paladins.

The PowerbLast ship is a superior design and we have just added 6 more PowerbLasts to our fleet. Tyvalger is free from worry now, we protect them and allow them to build up their infastructure, although they have lost much from the siege. The War magi do not have sufficient infastructure to threaten us, they will be quickly defeated.

Crew morale is at an all time high after our devastating victory. Avren Gath will be revenged. I declare that the counter-crusade has begun! Merauds' will shall be done.

Chieftain 57

The bardic fleet has stopped bombing our world, for the moment, the current Lich believes they have ran out of supplies. The past year and a half have an extensive history which I will try to summarize.

Chieftain 53 led the anti-crusade fleet on several successful battles. The war magi were completely destroyed. Cleric and Paladin fleets were annihilated. And the cleric homeworld was crippled and plagued. After all of these successes, a fleet of Bardic ships warped in to our home system, and destroyed our defensive fleet and most of our population.

Then Chieftain 53 tried to send the Anti-Crusade fleet to stop the bards. But the Paladins had finally built a fleet of ships that could stop that Chieftains fleet. The Anti-Crusade fleet was destroyed taking that chieftain with it. The extensive bombardment of our planet resulted in the quick deaths of Chieftains 54, 55 and 56.

The thieves are the only respite remaining for us, if they can build up a fleet we have a chance, though slim. Things were working so well when we swept through the Crusade alliance space, but now regardless of the cost to them, the Crusader alliance will prevail, with the help of the Bards.

All that will be left of the alliances is the Paladins and Tyvalger, the thieves. The Clerics will likely perish from the plague.

Partani Kendia
2408

I am Kisana of the empaths' guild, leader and highest Empath. Though our citizens are very sensitive to others' pain, we have developed ways of stopping the Barbarians, although at great cost.

In the first battle with the Barbarians, our Touch Warriors boarded 8 barbarian vessels, but the Barbarian firepower was too much. 8000 Infantry, including some of the best Elite troops ever, were lost, along with the crews to thirty ships.

The barbarians were heavily crippled after that battle. Now we have a fleet of 33 Touch Warriors, we are only waiting on supply ships. If we can capture the barbarian ships, then we will prepare for a Troop landing on their homeworld.

The troop carriers have not been trained yet, we are running at a heavy deficit with our existing fleet, resources are now the bigger constraint than construction rates.

But the Barbarians are likely to be operating at an even greater deficit than us. Our destroyer Touch Warriors are battling and hopefully capturing Light cruiser and Cruiser sized warships.

If we can capture the Barbarian homeworld, we will stop one of the gravest threats to the peace of the galaxy.

Decisions for Partani

Information trickled in through the Traders and their long links of contacts, and through now non-existent radio signals. It seems the Bards (Amachi Kendia) had destroyed 8 billion people in two successive campaigns. Although those successes were against two of the most troubling guilds to the empaths, the outright slaughter of so many troubled them.

The best account of events goes as follows:

The bards sent a first fleet 3 years ago, approximately. The fleet utterly destroyed all defenses the Necromancer guild had. The Necromancers' main fleet tried to return from its siege on the Clerics' homeworld, but was destroyed by a Paladin battlefleet. Over a matter of four months, the Necromancers went from being the most dominant military power in the galaxy to being powerless.

Unfortunately for the bards, their first fleet was completed drained of supply and forced to cease bombardment. A second fleet was built and sent, arriving there and destroying the Necromancers' completely.

At the same time, the Empaths' main battle fleet met up with the Barbarians, and was utterly decimated, resulting in the second lost battle against them. The Empaths' took their time rebuilding yet again. This time they planned on building an overwhelmingly large fleet.

In the meantime, the Bards' fleet swelled to over 50 some ships. The fleet took the long route home, and upon arriving there was instructed to begin an attack on the Barbarians, having got word from a remaining Rangers' colony that the Barbarians had destroyed their homeworld and several colonies.

The Bard fleet was a serious drain on the Bardic economy to be sure, so results were imperative for the war fleet. The Barbarian war fleet had been mostly scrapped as supplies were extremely low after their campaign against the Rangers, and their battles against the empaths. Because of the Barbarians' lack of preparedness, their entire homeworld was depopulated in a matter of 15 hours of heavy bombardment.

This is the Last known position of the Bardic fleet. It is likely they are returning to their homeworld, perhaps to be scrapped, or perhaps to be sent out again.

The Clerics were severely damaged by the Necromancer assault, and a horrible plague wiped them out, thus making the Crusade war the most deadly conflict in galactic history. Among the six empires who had existed at its start, only the Paladins and a few million Thieves remain. Nearly 20 billion people have been guild, just in that war, with 8 more billion killed in various southern conflicts.

The Empath council had finally decided that they needed to take action in 2412. Capturing the bardic planet with little lost of civillian lives would be the most humane way to prevent further genocide. Any other empires that showed overt aggressiveness should be stopped, was the ruling of the council.

So the empath's built up yet another warfleet composed of boarding parties and infantry, which were the most humane ways of war to the empaths, and set off across the galaxy to put a stop to Bardic vengence. Although the Barbarians and Necromancers were severely misguided empires, the empaths still felt that many innocents were wrongly killed.

Of the eleven guilds that had left Elanthia, the old world, only the Bards, Empaths, Traders, Paladins and a small Thief presense remained.
