Are you talking about Crown of slaves? I think that is the latest book in the HH universe, as far as I remember that Last book that had Honor herself was War of Honor, really good book btw.
*** Spoiler **** Spoiler *****
So what do you think Manticore is going to do now that the Peeps are on the Offensive, with twice the warships of the Manticore Alliance. I think that the lighter ships will begint to play a bigger role, being they are now armed with missile pods both internal and along the top and bottom.
Then again, I could be wrong

Re: OT - Thoughts on the Honor Harrington series
OMG! i didn't even know about Crown of slaves!!!
woot
but from what i've read so far, its not about HH
DAMN
but still, it seems like it takes place during the Last HH book, War of Honour
*** spoiler ***
as to what will happen for future fleet battles, it seems pretty clear that advanced missles and EW and lacs / fighters will be the winning combo...
esp with sidewalls in the front and back of the usually 'open' wedges which are weak
its really pretty cool - the tech in HH

Ya it more of a sequal to the first story in "The Service of The Swoard". No Honor though, and I don't think its going to have any space battles, or at the most maybee 1.
I've heard some mixed reviews, some love it, some don't. It brings to light many of the characters that were only touched upon in many of the HH books. I'll probably get it once its in paper back.

Re: OT - Thoughts on the Honor Harrington series
Wow, just saw the HMS Minotaur in action against the peeps. Go, LACs!
But Manticore seems to be losing the initiative. *Boo hiss*
What, now that Honor isn't around they're going to lose all their battles?

Re: OT - Thoughts on the Honor Harrington series
Just finished "Echoes of Honor" (I do believe that was the longest Honor novel to date) and starting on "Ashes of Victory".
I knew the scene where Honor Harrington was welcomed home aboard the superdreadnaught Honor Harrington was coming, but it still brought a tear to my eyes.

I swear I am not trying to derail this thread, but I like how Weber moves our feelings around and gets us thinking. Example, Manti Government gets filp-flopped with a change of leadership, now the so called Pacifists (is all I can think of), they think they KNOW better, will not deal with the Peeps respectfully and put the war behind them, they drag their feet in their superiority, they do not finish the war (by working out reasonable terms) SO, the Peeps all but beg for a resolution so they can get on with their lives, and when the Mantis treat them like children, they have nothing left to do but make sure they are treated fairly, and if that means going on the offense, so be it. And here I am rooting for them to put them stoopid Manti idiot politicians in their place.
So, I cant help but think, man this reminds me of Chamberlain in WW2, the Iraq situation and even 9-11, and all I can say is no matter what the Democrats in the U.S. say about how evil Bush is, I am glad he is in charge and not them, they would be pulling what what the Manties are doing in the latest books.

Re: OT - Thoughts on the Honor Harrington series
Finally finished "War of Honor"! That was one long novel!
Can anyone tell me if the short story collections are any good?
