It is along those lines but it is not to be taken literally as if everyone would have markings on their foreheads.

Of course, one can certainly discuss the idea of an absolute world ruler without referencing the antichrist, or misuse the word "antichrist" to mean only an evil dictator. Properly used, "antichrist" adds the idea that this ruler also forces everyone to worship him and deny Christ. This is a concept from the Bible, especially the prophetic and apocalyptic parts.

Maybe for BG, we should use the Islamic term "the Great Satan," which seems to have a broader definition.

I saw that too but any of the Bibles prophecies do not apply to BG anyways so I guess that is why I was wondering.

I'm not so sure...After banging my head off the monitor in frustration from the windows OS i have had a mark on my forehead...

Edit: On a more spiritual note i know a few christians who believe that the European Union is the beginning of an empire prophesied in the bible. A lot of the prophercies can be interpreted these days relating to events happening, but my personal view is that at any time a prophecy can be interpreted. It's just the world being in a bad state at the moment

Oh, OK, I see. Hope my Last post wasn't too sarcastic. You have to read the article cited at the beginning of this topic by whoever started this thing. Which wasn't me. I hopped on board just to point out that the cited article didn't say Bill is the antichrist, but that a software monopoly with that kind of centralized control is something that the antichrist would find useful.

The rest of my post was just to point out that, whether you believe the Bible writers were inspired by God or not, they do seem to have been "spot on" (as the Brits would say) in quite a few of their warnings. So maybe we should think about their predictions for what a person or government or business would do with that kind of centralized power. The writers were certainly well-acquainted with absolute dictators and religious intolerance disguised as inclusiveness.
