That is a good movie. Although I haven't seen the origianal. I just watch the one with Tony Danza the other night with my friends. I enjoyed it alot, as you said it makes you think about it and get into the story.
My list would have to include the following, in no particular order:
Gone in 60 Seconds
SW, 2, 4, 5, 6
Most of the Star Trek movies
Taken (Miniseries)
Dumb & Dumber
The Matrix (1)
Lots more but that is it for now.

Re: OT: Favorite Movie
I'd have to say Star Wars: A New Hope, for the same reasons that David mentioned. Except I was 13 at the time - perhaps an even better age for it.
Others in the top five:
Dead Poet's Society
Room with a View
Casablanca
Kelly's Heroes
While we're on the topic of bests...
Best Radio Show: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (BBC)
Best Book: Dune
Best TV series: Star Trek TNG

reading over this list reminded me of alot of old movies that i enjoyed and respected a great deal, and based on the content of the list im supprised that you did not have Sparticas instead of Ben Hur. No matter, but seriously here.. Barbarella? are you kidding? I mean, I only saw the movie after enjoying music from the 80s band that took their name from one of the characters, and even as just a comic curiosity, it was painful to watch.
Lets see, what can I name thats not on here already?
Sanjuro
Heat
Maltese Falcon
Galipoli
Mad Max
Conan the Barbarian

Re: OT: Favorite Movie
I can't keep Favorites, not music or movies or anything it seems. Here are some movies I like a great deal that are on my mind right now; all very recent, whatever that might mean.
The Professional
True Romance
The Cell (just for the visuals: Beautiful!)
The Usual Suspects
Seven
Chasing Amy
The Emperor's New Grove (very funny, watched many times)
Falling Down (very much like a certain genre of video game)

Re: OT: Favorite Movie
Aaah, the very elusive "Inspector General". I've been searching for that movie on VHS (or DVD) for years now. It's nowhere to be seen. I too am a fan of Danny Kaye. I sure hope that one day I'll find it, it's the only Danny Kaye movie I have not seen. and aparently it's one of his best.
Oh for woah is me
Cheers!
