When you pull up into the game host and hit end turn if any of the .plr files are missing or for the wrong turn it will tell you. It will give you an option for each one whether to skip it and process the turn without it, letting the AI play for that player, or cancel running the turn so you can straighten out the .plr file issue.

After some trouble I was able to get a message that said I successfully uploaded my turn to your backup. But your main screen still shows me in red.
