I am nearing completion of my first race. Here are two of the ships for the race.
The first one is a Cruiser (Animosity Class)
The second ship is a Battleship (Offender Class) |

Do they look like they are from the Star Trek Universe? Frankly you can have them be from whatever you want them to be from. The opening could be a fighter bay, cargo port, space dust intake manafold, whatever the player wants it to be.

I see. It just tends to distort the continuity of the ship to have a simplistic box with a whole in it on the front.  They are good ships otherwise.
Worldships are typically supposed to be more or less round, as they are mostly used for things like Death Stars, Battlemoons, and other giant spherical planet-like ships.
