Some of my discussion was dealing with a high-tech game. In this regard, I was hoping I could stack many sats (no maintenance) over an asteroid. But, it seems that sats count as one unit when fighting but not when mining...

.

Also, with unlimited fuel...ships could leave. Of course, this isn't an option early in a game.
