				 What did I mess up?
I haven't played a stock game in a while, but recently when I tried I get an error window after hitting "begin game". It lists :
AI Settings Errors: c:\program files\shrapnel games\malfador machinations\space empires iv
Could not find field "Ships don't move through minefields" in record "settings"Could not find field "Ships don't move through restricted systems" in record "settings"Could not find field "Clear orders on encounter enemy" in record "settings"
... there are several others similar (10 total bullets)
The game then loads and appears to work, but I didn't play more than a couple of turns.

What did I do wrong and how do I fix it?

You have a pre-Gold AI in your race/pictures folder.

And instructions to fix it are linked in my sig.
Look for a RaceName_AI_Settings.txt file that doesn't mention drones at the end.

Re: What did I mess up?
Is this the only explanation? I have never owned SE4 pre-gold. Also any mods installed have always been installed in separate subdirectories so I can't understand how I would have gotten pre-gold AI's.
Would it be better I reinstall the game then repatch? If I did this, what would happen to my savegames and mod subdirectories?

[edit: Where are my manners? Thanks for the quick response!]

Ah yes, I did install several new races some time ago. And I believe I put them in the root races directory. Thanks!

Fixed! Thanks, guys. I only had 1 pre-gold AI, but it sure gave lots of error Messages.

Ya those out dated Ai's can be a real pain.
Does any one know where I can get the AI builder Program? I think that was what it was called.

It helped to set up the AI general file. Thanks

I'm pretty sure I have it at work. Not sure who made it or where to download it. If you don't mind waiting till next week, I could email it to you.
