Favour: can someone build me a map for a PBW game?
Can I ask someone (anyone) a favour?
I am suddenly the host in a PBW game (the "001 Ultimate game") I am playing in. It has some interesting map requirements. I'd prefer to keep playing, so is there someone out there willing to build me a map that I can use as the map for the game (and which I can delete from my system as soon as I build the game). I started to do it myself, but discovered that I knew too much about the galaxzy created to be comfortable playing in the game. But, if someone creates it, I know I'll delete it as soon as I start the game, so I can still play in it.
So, if someone is willing, here's the map I was gonna create:
FQM standard, either mid-life or cluster, with as many systems possible (going for 255 systems) with interesting stellar phenomena and, most importantly, some number of LONG-RANGE WP that span the galaxy.
The reason for this sort of map is that this is to be an RP game on an epic scale, and having interesting stellar phenoms and long-range WP lends itself to this sort of game.
What I was going to do for making this map was to create a FQM standard (mid-life or cluster, dense or sparse or whatever) map using SE4, then save it, and edit it in the map editor to add some long-range WPs.
The scheme I was going to use to add the WPs was this: I was going to divide the galaxy into 4 quadrants, give each quadrant 0-3 (d4-1) long range WPs that would reach to a different quadrant (determined randomly). The systems that these WPs would start and end in would also be determined randomly (using d100s or whatever was suitable to find a system in the quadrant in question).
This, I think, would give us 0-12 long range WPs, placed randomly, as well as an interesting map. All in all, great for an RP game.
If there is anyone out there willing to make such a map, I'd be grateful....And, hey, since it's an RTP game, adding weird features to your heart's content is perfectly cool...just so long as the map is playable and not too overwhelming, just very interesting (oh, there will be AIs so it can't be too AI-unfriendly either...) The other game settings can be seen under the "001 Ultimate game" on PBW...
thanks to all,
Alarik

cool, thanks. WE don't have ancient races in this game, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Also, there are three systems that possess effects that have never before been seen, possibly by anyone.
I ran a test game, and they work quite well.
