It didn't work for me either a few minutes ago. There seem to be a problem with the server, but unlike you, I can usually connect after some (granted, quite a few) attempts.

Hmm... Perhaps I should get an award for having written the least helpful post since these forums were open. I do not have the slightest idea about why it doesn't always work, or more importantly, how to make it work.
