PBW Entertainment Inc.?

I participating in one pbw game (actually I'am replacement plr), but have awfull research and military activities. And even worse - I'm in the center of quadrant with huge empires in east, west and even north-south. So it's just a matter of 2-3 years who exactly will eat me. But I dont want to be eaten. Heh, kinda eternal Q: "Eat or be eaten". But the worst part - I'm bad military leader (so why I'm still playing SE? Hell, I really don't know why). So one day following ideas come to my mind: "How to survive? -> Diplomacy? You aren't so mighty ally, dude. -> Ask mercy? You are man, not snot nose. -> Entertain people? Wtf are talking about? Want to be a clown?" But I catched this idea, and here are the results:
1. Battle Arena: Empty sector. 2 or more competitors send their ships to this sector (or they can build them on rented SY Bases). And. They fight. All kinds of disputes can be settled here.
2. Handbook man's Office: here you can stake on the competitors.
3. GalaBank: credits, borrowing against security, low percents, good conditions, benefits for reliable bank customers. Depositions with nice yield rate of interest, if you don't want to mess around with res storages (extremely needed to maintain bank balance).
4. Insurance (????)
5. Interstellar Casino (?): I can use random number generator for this.
6. High Court (yes, you guess right - I'm the judge

So, I want to ask: if all (or something) of this make sense or game mechanics won't allow such perVersions. And more important - if anybody could find this intresting or I'm pushing a RL boredom? Any ideas/flame/praise are welcome.

Well, those are neat ideas. It would be difficult, but not toally impossible to pull off something like that in the game as long as everyone doesn't get too literal about it.

The question though is if the other guys are so much bigger then you are they going to need loans and stuff from you.

But I suppose if you can entertain them enough they may decide to keep you around as a pet.

Eah, it seems this banking mess was not so good idea. And I've just realized, that I won't be able to pay if someone will be lucky enough to win 20 millions (minerals, whatever) in MY casino, without financial support (from bank). I will be forced to sell all my empire to winner

. So I have to throw away casino too. Remaining points are not so important to give me some kind of immunity. Sux. So damn versatile game - fight or die. But never mind, we have allies, we have guns (hopefully they are big). No pasaran!

PS: As I understand it is the very first noob question: "Why they are killing me and why all my brilliant ideas don't work the way I'd like to?"

Suicide Junkie once played an insterstellar black market dealer of starships and technology... I thought it would be fun so I tried it in one of my other games... I don't know about him but I've started to regret that, I don't want to be a businessman!

edit: actually, when I first saw this post title I thought, "oh, someone wants to expand PBW to incorporate other games, and maybe turn it into a commercial venture?"
