Re: Question on modding?
Well, I have to warn you ahead of time that you're probably in for a frustrating experience. Depending on how complex the mods you want to combine are, you've got a lot of cross-referencing, re-writing, and de-bugging to do. Each mod author tends to write their changes as "stand-alone" (unless they factor in things like the Image Mod for their graphics), and often two modders will have conflicing ideas on how to do something that will have to be decided between or reconciled - and these changes often occur over one or more game files.
Your best bet would be to look at the features you like in each mod, and do your own mod to incorporate/replicate those features.

Re: Question on modding?
You can easily combine Deathstalker's Mount Mod, FQM and one of those other mods, as they all mod different things. DMM you need just the CompEnhancement.txt file. For FQM there are detailed instructions in its Help folder for how to combine it with other mods.
As for Planetary Assault and Dark Horse, I am not familiar with them. What you will want to do is figure out which one mods the game more heavily, and use that one as your base. Create a new mod folder to contain your merged mod. Copy the base mod into it. Merge DMM's single file into it (overwriting the mount file should be fine). Merge FQM into the mod. Then, go through the other mod and compare differences in the files, adding and changing what you want to.

Re: Question on modding?
Thanks for the input, fellow gamers. I figured as much. It looks like it’ll be a lot of work for me. I use to mod a few other games I use to play but it was hassle for me and I had other things to do in life. I was hoping there would an easy way for me to mod this game. If I have any questions later on about modding your addons I’ll ask here. I want the AI to battle it out with my Fazrah Empire, Xiati Empire, or Jraenar Empire using carrier battles as well as taking over planet bases like in WW2 pacific theater.

Not to sound descending, but:
I have played TDM years ago and they did not capture Planets.
Really Fyron how does TDM AI capture planets, the TDM AI construction file hardly makes Troop Transports

Re: Question on modding?
Then you played an old Version that did not have AIs capable of conquering planets... I forget which ones exactly can do so, but I seem to recall the Space Vikings being one of them.
