To players in PbW games I was in
I am sorry to have pulled out. I apologise to the allies I am abandoning, to the opponents who are achieving far victories agaisnt me for which the deserve the contest of a human opponents, and to the poor saps who may get the opportunity to sort out my empires if they take over my games.
I have enjoyed the time I have spent in these games, but my life simply does not allow me to meet this obligation at this time. I will be losing my job in a month or two, and for this reason have been putting in sixty hour weeks since November. I am no longer able to maintain this work schedual and meet my obligations to other play by web players.
I'll be staying on PbC and the Boards, as I can post in those palces from work and have time to make the one-week deadling for PbC.
Again, I'm sorry. Especially to Rags, Vezzra, and Roanon in from the NGC3 game and to the brave souls trying to hold together team U.S.A. in the US vs Lithuania game.

Sorry to hear that , but you *really* have sufficient reason to pull out. I'm loosing my best enemy...
Good luck, hopefully you will be able to return to PBW one day.

Vezzra I hope to.
I do want you to know, however, that I had just made an interesting deal with another player, and as a result was going to be sending twenty Talismanic Baseships (miricles on order) into your space to follow through on my little promise, while the rest of my empire burned. I probably would have quit Last week were it not for the weight of that specific obligation, and the fact that I thought I might meet it soon.
Still, though I doubt your fighters and smallships would have held back my heretics, they might have fallen to rot before they found your homeworld.

I'm sad that you are leaving, you promised to be my first real opponent... I hope you get all your issues sorted out soon, and will find a new job at least as good as your current.
As for the 20 Baseships, of course Prometheus and I would have helped to defend poor Vezzra and not leave him to be the sole target of your wraith. I think while my battleship production should be sufficient to continue the conquest, my monthly production of 20 Baseships would have been able to match your efforts
All the best to you, I'm looking forward to the day when you will return.

Re: To players in PbW games I was in
I had a lot more than just the twenty, Roanon. You'll see if you make it to my homeworld shipyard before Nyx or Nether'noS. I just figured twenty would be enough to make a serious attempt to find his homeworld.
Not that I'm certain it would have been successful, of course. But, you and Vezzra weren't rampaging through my space without consequence because I lacked the ships to respond, but rather because I was sending over three hundred ships around other systems to play wack-a-Nyx, and had to scramble to refit them to face a non-religious opponent.
Unless someone takes over the ZAX I suspect you'll find these fleets adrift in space. A shame that.

That is quite a shame that you have had to pull out of your games. But I can understand your reason and I fully respect your decision. This will make the game alot tougher then it already is. But the Rorg will fight on.

Re: To players in PbW games I was in
I was already going down. I think I was already two turns past the point where I could offer you any help.
With my best fleet chasing Nyx's latest warp point and two other partially refitted fleets running after the two new invaders, I also had all but a dozen or so worlds in riot (they'll come out, someday. I do have troops). Not to mention this empire is weak on construction (?!?!), so I was totally dependant on retro-series, for which I no longer had sufficient funds.
Still, I could have supported things a little longer by mass-scrapping facilities... but it would not have been pretty and it would not have Lasted long.
Still, I very much regret abandoning my ally. Sorry.

Re: To players in PbW games I was in
@Loser: I've already suspected something, but I thought more in the line of suddenly being confronted with you opening some long distance warp connections deep into my space. Your baseship armada would have been quite a surprise , what a pity that you had to drop out...
It would have been a tough fight, and I could have made some interesting in-game story of that... I wonder how you were able to maintain so many ships. 500 battleships and 50+ baseships (or even 100?) - maintenance costs must have been terrific
But don't call my ships "smallships" Almost all my warships are 800kT ships (or bigger), and don't underestimate fighters. Given enough numbers they can be very nasty Of course, against your twenty *talisman equipped* baseships I would probably have lost most of them.
Suspecting that you might come up with some unpleasant surprise, I have, however, already made some preparations : I have some transporters standing by to evacuate my homeworld just in case

Re: To players in PbW games I was in
Well, everything I'd seen so far was pretty small, especially compared to a baseship.
And the Battleship count is more like three or four hundred, though it has been greater in the past. And all the Baseships are, I think, still on mothballs as a consequence of the retroseries process. I'm not sure anymore, but I think the latest were ready to be gifted to my 'outside contractor' for the addition of the Talisman.
The homeworld population is not so big a deal. My own strategies involve depopulating mine around mid-game anyway. It's the anger hit your people taken when the homeworld goes down that makes it such a nice target.
And, still, I don't know that I would have gotten to yours, for one reason or another, and I don't believe I would have beaten you three either. At best I could have bought more time for Rorg, who might have been able to prepare a fleet large enough to completely waylay Nyx. Hell, he still might. I have no idea what he's been up to.
