Another semi good movie is The Alien Hunter. I know the name sounds bad, but believe me they do explain it. (The primary Character, James Spader (Stargate), used to work for SETI thus the nick name Alien Hunter.)

The move is a cross between The Thing, Close Encounters, and a spin off of the Roswell incident.

For a low budge movie it does a great job of keeping you interested in the story with good acting, ok special effects, and a unique story line.

I'd say this one was a good rainy night rental. I watched it twice and that is rare for me.

Subtitles are almost always better than dubbing. Helps if the subtitles are legible - bad subtitles white on white is of course no good. Best is letterbox format, with subtitles in the black area below the image.

If anyone is tired of returning rentals from Block Buster or similar rental places, give www.netflix.com a try.
I converted to it over 5 years ago and I have yet to step a foot in a store, drive to one @ 11pm to return or stand in line. I get from 6-12 movies a month, for $20. Its no scam, it works great and I always get the fresh new movies the same week they come out. They also have an outstanding foreign and obscure title selection.
Trying this company will get you excited about getting mail each week. I can give more details if needed.

Here in Australia we have an entire government run channel that shows foreign films and programs, SBS (Special Broadcasting Station). I don't know much about US TV stations but from the endings of the US documentaries it shows PBS programs sort of stuff, I think. They do their own subtitles in yellow writing which is supposedly the best. When they have programs with their own subtitles in white, people ring up to complain. So most people in Australia are used to reading the subtitles while watching French, or German, or Chinese films etc. As well as the Documentaries and films there is stuff like Lebanese soap opera or Austrian Detective shows (Inspector Rex). On saturday nights they used to have cult movies like italian horror films or Anime, until they sacked the presenter for some reason. In relation to the Anime, his Last name was even Mangan.

Atrocities, I was at Best Buy yesterday, and they had about half-a-dozen of those Returner movies for sale. I was tempted, but I bought the El Mariachi/Desparado 2-pack I missed out on when ONce Upon A Time In Mexico came out. Might buy it next time I"m there.

Ok, Atrocities, my resistance was futile and I gave in and bought Returner yesterday. didn't have the chance to watch it Last night, but will try to tonight. I'll let you know what I think about it after I see it.

Ok, Atrocities, I started to watch the Returner Last night, but fell asleep halfway through it. Not that it was boring or anything like that, but I have a tendency to do that if I start watching a movie after 10:00 PM (especially if I'm sitting in my recliner like I was Last night). I'll try to watch it again when I have the chance, but I usually have to wait for the missus to be asleep so I can watch the movie in peace. Nothing like getting into a movie and then the wife wants you to do something. From what I saw of it, though, it was definitely interesting.
