Re: ZQNN (Zeta Quadrant News Network) - Replacement Player needed
/OOC/ Sabib - you need to send that request in-game... the Zeta Knights don't read this forum...

Re: ZQNN (Zeta Quadrant News Network) - Replacement Player needed
I did send it in-game. However, your ship left the sight of my units, so perhaps the message was lost? By the way, would the fact that your ships and race pictures change every turn affect the Messages I send?

Re: ZQNN (Zeta Quadrant News Network) - Replacement Player needed
Hi.
No - sight of line does not matter.
But you must remember the time delay.
Turn 1: you send a message. (The turn before this).
Turn 2: I receive your message, read it and respond. (This turn).
Turn 3: You get my reply. (Next turn)
tHAT MY SHIPS CHANGE IS BECOURSE YOU HAVEN'T DOWNLOADED THE SHIPSET THAT i'M USING, SO THE GAME PICKS ONE AT (Darn, I hate that caps lock key) random instead.
On the Zeta Quadrant game page at PBW click on the link that is under my empire name, download that shipset and unpack it to your pictures/races directory in you SEIV game directory. It should then unpack itself in an own directory called Sweden or something like that. Then you'll see my ships in the full glory that they are meant to be seen.
There are many custom shipsets used in this game.
So, concerning the in-game message, it might just be very propable that I'm sitting here at my computer right now reading it... so You might look for an answer next turn.
Se Ya
Ruatha

Stardate 2401.0
The airlock hissed open and she stepped out of the small shuttle, finaly home again she thought.
She visited 'Hydoria' the latest colony which the Order colonized lately.
There was a Hoovercabin waiting for her to bring her to her apartment, but she refused. No, Walks are better on such a perfect day she said to herself. And she started thinking about the preparations for the Great Search.
She walked in the direction of the park when far above her the newest frigate from the 'Gods Way' Class ignited her engines and disapeared out of sight in only seconds.

Stardate 2401.0
Sorel Tel'ix, captain of the first Chozo colony ship to leave New Tallon, squawked at his monitor. Chozo were not normally known to squawk.
"The Fledglings want me to do WHAT?!?"
"It is a simple request; they want you to participate in a cultural exchange program," said the Elder he was speaking to.
The captain's eyes narrowed to slits. "Cultural exchange program? As in, interrogate and then dissect me and every other Chozo aboard this ship in order to gain vital secrets that would let them destroy what little foothold we have left in the universe?"
"No, Captain," the Elder explained calmly, "this is a cultural exchange program. Nothing more."
"With all due respect, Elder Telron, I won't have anything to do with it," said the captain, and he cut off the communication channel.
The Elder sighed... when would those impetuous young starship captains learn the Way of Peace?
But then, maybe those captains were just more knowledgeable in the devious Ways of the Fledglings...
The Elder began writing a letter to High Regent Ch'rel:
"No starship captains are willing to give up their ships, even in exchange for untold cultural and technical wealth... It is most unfortunate, then, that....."
It was not quite the truth... but those were the Ways of the Fledglings.

Zeta Knights The Mourning (4-1) Stardate 2401.0
The catastrophy struck fast, the colony ship "Snål lång 002" was travelling under standard exploration protocol.
Head for the nearest unexplored worm-hole, jump through and head for the middle of the system.
This had saved alot of time in the recent past, instead of just jumping through to take a look and powering down the engines, loosing many weeks of travel time, the ships had kept up speed all the time.
But this time it had proved fatal.
The ship had been close to the wormhole when it jumped, it exited on the other side and the engines continued roaring heading for the center of the system.
When the crew realized that this was not an ordinary system but a black hole, it was all too late.
The engines where shut down but in a matter of days the ship was sucked into the hole and crushed.
All hands lost.
The Zeta Knights exploration protocol had to be changed, new plans revised. This would set back the colonization surge by several weeks, if not months.

eh...it's one black hole. unless it's an ancient quadrent, it's not like space is littered with these things.
but it does sound like your roleplaying.
