				 100+ mines
In a v1.91 Gold game today, I had a fleet wiped out by mines, even though the fleet had 100 sweeping capability. Here was the event message: "Our forces have been damaged by a minefield at coordinates (4,5) of the Blahblah system. We have lost 15 ships to the mines. Our mine sweepers were able to eliminate 100 mines." It is possible that multiple players had launched mines in that sector, but I thought that sweepers would still sweep all the mines from each player individually (ie, if you can sweep 100 mines, then you are safe).
Has something changed in v1.91? Or was I mistaken about having multiple players "stack" mines???

No, sweepers do not sweep mines from each race individually. |

				 Re: 100+ mines
 From the FAQ:
8.4.10 The default limit for mines in a sector is 100 per empire. This means that every empire can potentially have 100 mines in the same sector. It is customary to make fleets that can sweep 100 mines to be able to clear a given minefield, but this won't protect you from 2 or more allies who heavily mine the same sector. Note that your fleet will not be engaged by mines of an empire that you have a peace treaty with.

				 Re: 100+ mines
You can mod (in settings.txt) the max allowed mines per sector. Stock default is 100, but that can be easily increased. The FAQ is written for stock default settings.
But the general idea is the same. If the mod has an upper limit of 500 mines per sector, that means that it is 500 per sector per empire so there could be thousands mines in a sector if several allies arranged this. I don't know what the limit in your mod is, but you should check and adjust your fleet mine sweeping capability to suit.

The max mines per sector for Atrocities Star Trek mod is 120.

I'm not sure but maybe you can have more mines together in one sector if you lay a whole bunch in a random movement system, and the movement causes them to come together into one group? But you can't control where they end up. |

Then you are using a modded settings.txt file. The stock limit in 1.91 is still 100. Are you playing the Star Trek Mod by chance? As I said before that one is modded to allow 120 mines per sector.Quote:

				 Re: 100+ mines
Were you playing a stock game (V1.91) or a mod (V1.91)? Some of the mods have a default "Maximum Mines" setting higher than 100. |
