It's a companion series not a replacement and SG-1 Cast will be making the occasional crossover into the show.

It says the adventures take place AFTER the SG-1 series and refers to jack O'niel as General O'niel so it sounds like this will take place a little into our future.

They have a new enemy called the Wraiths I WANNA KNOW WHAT UP with the Goua'Ould?! They better not just leave the Goua'ould as a cliffhanger ending or some such because that would just piss me off

This is one of my favorite Sci-Fi shows to watch. This is excellent news, and a Mod based on them, well that would be outstanding. I had no idea this was in the works. Thanks.

It appears that Atlantis will take place in the not too distant future but in the future none the less because of the fact that some of the stuff I read that I wouldn't want to spoil for you guys.

I can deal with a story in the not too distant future as long as they keep the Goa'Ould in the story line since so far Anubis is far from falling and the System lords seem to be uniting

They did one in the pilot. Major Carter was talking about some rig job they did hooking up the Stargate and she said they "MacGyvered it". I've been paying attention on the others, but if they've done any more I missed them.
